Notice version 2026-11-05.1
Privacy in the NiaBend app
This notice explains the data the app sends to the NiaBend service. License presence, in-app announcements, usage statistics and feedback are separate flows with their own purposes and identifiers.
You can install the app and use your license without sharing statistics or submitting feedback. This website’s measurement preference is independent of your choice in the app.
License presence
Observe installations and sessions in use to monitor the license. It is part of licensing: it works only with a valid local license and does not depend on consent or on your statistics choice.
Installation and session identifiers, app version and a reduced license proof: identifier, sequence, key, signature and cryptographic hashes of the document and machine identifier. From the connection IP address, the server also records the approximate country and state (in Brazil, the broad region) of the most recent contact. The full license document is sent only if the service does not recognize the installed license; in that case, we record that license’s customer, plan, validity, machine identifier and signature to identify licenses in use without registration, including the approximate country and state of that record’s connection.
In-app announcements
Show, when the software opens, what NiaBend publishes: new versions, video lessons, news and offers. This does not depend on your choice about statistics.
The software asks for the announcement, stating the language, the installed version and a reduced license proof. The site uses this data only to choose the announcement for that plan and version and does not record it in the statistics. What has already been shown is stored on your computer.
Optional statistics
Understand feature usage and the reach of in-app announcements to improve the product. Collection and sending start only after an explicit choice in the installer or the app.
A separate random identifier, version, UTC day and 6-hour slot, estimated active seconds, numeric screen and tool counters and, for each in-app announcement and day, how many times it appeared and how many clicks its button received. We also receive the notice version, the source of the choice and the date recorded by the app’s clock.
Voluntary feedback
Receive your opinion about the product. Feedback is sent only when you choose to rate it; accepting statistics does not submit feedback.
A rating from 1 to 5, an optional comment of up to 1,000 characters, day, app version and a separate random identifier for that review. We do not associate feedback with your license, account, e-mail, statistics or marketing.
What these measurements mean
Statistics accumulate counts for designated screens, completed data imports and exports, simulations and reports (split into HTML and PDF). They also count the first saved geometry of a new part (2D, DXF or STEP), calibration operations that save new measurements, and machine programs successfully saved, grouped by the correction actually applied and its source, by the internal-radius and K-factor mode (fixed, calculated or mixed) and by the target controller (ESA or NiaBend). They do not count CAD visits, drawing clicks or tool searches, and do not include material names or measurement values.
Active time estimates recent interaction with a visible, focused window. It is not a timekeeping or productivity measure. The 6-hour slot does not reveal the exact time of each action; the date of your choice depends on the app’s clock. Reports represent only people who chose to share.
Presence keeps the latest contact for each installation and session. A session is considered active for up to 15 minutes after contact. Reinstallations, Windows profiles, virtual machines and offline use affect counts; observed installations do not prove physical computers or misuse and do not cause automatic blocking.
What stays out of these submissions
Statistics do not include your name, e-mail, account, file paths or names, CAD documents, drawings, project contents, registered tooling, error messages or diagnostic logs. Your work files stay on your computer.
The app does not send GPS, city or address. For statistics consented to under this notice and for license presence, the server uses the transient IP address to consult a local GeoIP database and retain approximate country and state codes; in Brazil it derives a broad region from the state. It does not store the IP address, city or coordinates in insights tables or send the IP address to a geolocation provider. Presence keeps only the location of the most recent contact, removed together with the presence. Feedback is not enriched with location.
The estimate describes the connection when data is uploaded, not where the actions occurred. Offline batches, VPNs and corporate networks affect it. Each time slot keeps the location from its first receipt, including on retries. Failed lookups appear as unknown location. The map uses representative points for countries or states, not the user’s position; small groups are combined or omitted and are not used to reconstruct journeys.
The only free-text field is a feedback comment. Do not include personal information, customer details, passwords or project contents in it.
Choosing, declining and withdrawing
Statistics remain off until you choose to share. No option is preselected. A silent installation, update or completed installation alone does not authorize collection. When the service is unavailable, the app explains that condition.
You can change your choice in Settings → General → Privacy. Declining, withdrawing consent, clearing pending submissions and rating the app also remain available with an expired license. A material change to this notice stops statistics and requires a new choice.
Withdrawing consent stops collection, cancels ongoing local uploads and deletes pending statistics. The statistics identifier is renewed for a future choice. Clearing pending submissions also deletes feedback that has not been delivered. A request that has already reached the server cannot be recalled.
These actions do not automatically delete data already received by the site. To request access or deletion, use the contact channel below. Declining statistics does not turn off license validation or presence.
Retention and storage
In the app, pending statistics are kept for up to 30 days, with a limit of 120 slots. Pending feedback and receipts have a 90-day window and a combined limit of 32. After delivery is confirmed, the feedback text is deleted locally and only its receipt remains as a reference.
In the site database, detailed statistics are kept for up to 30 days and feedback for up to 90 days from the reported date. Old presence is removed after 24 hours without contact. Licenses in use without registration are kept on record for up to 90 days after the last contact. We also keep, with no time limit, aggregated and anonymous statistics made only of counts — per feature, month, version and approximate location, how many installations used the software on each day and month and for how long, feedback ratings per month and version, and each announcement’s numbers per day — with no identifiers, session, license, comment or exact time, to track how usage evolves over time. To count each month’s installations without repeats, the installation identifier is kept with the month and approximate location until 30 days after the month ends; after that, only the number remains.
Minimal delivery receipts, without a copy of the comment or batch, are kept for 31 days for statistics and 91 days for feedback from receipt to prevent duplicates. The record of your choice remains while corresponding statistics or receipts exist. After fulfilling a deletion request, we keep a minimal blocking reference for 31 days for statistics or 91 days for feedback to prevent pending data from being recreated.
Backup retention and hosting infrastructure are described in the website privacy policy. Deletions must also be preserved when a backup is restored.
References for support
The app’s Privacy area shows the current statistics reference, up to four previous references and up to 32 feedback references. Include the data type and relevant reference in your request. A statistics reference does not identify your feedback.
These identifiers are pseudonyms, not a promise of anonymity. Knowing a reference does not authorize access to or deletion of someone else’s data. Support verifies requests before providing information or deleting records.
