Features

Nine modules, one program

From the first line to the program on the machine — all in the same program, running on your shop's computer.

Constraint-based 2D CAD

The part profile is drawn right here — no CAD, no other program.

  • Line, arc and dimension, right on NiaBend's screen
  • Real constraints: horizontal, vertical, parallel, perpendicular, angle, length, radius, tangent, symmetry
cad · screen recording
A profile drawn from scratch: the lines, the dimensions, the symmetry constraints — and the developed length keeping up in the corner.
02 / 09 In the demo · up to 6 bends

Bend simulation

The simulation searches for the best position that causes no collision on the part.

  • Tries every possible sequence, up to 32 bends
  • Manual adjustment on any bend
  • In 2D and in 3D
simulation · screen recording
The whole sequence, from flat sheet to finished part, in the order that doesn't collide — process bend included.
03 / 09 In the demo · no DXF

Drawing and flat pattern

The profile becomes the blank for cutting, with the bends marked.

  • The blank is calculated from the chosen tooling
  • Developed length recalculated as you draw
  • Returns the flat pattern as DXF, with the bends marked and kept apart from the outline
flat pattern · preview
The blank before exporting: the outline is the cut; the bends are only marked, each with its angle.

STEP part import

The 3D your customer sent comes in as a sheet metal part, with the bends recognized.

  • Opens the STEP and recognizes every bend: angle, direction and radius
  • Flattens it instantly, with the bend lines marked on the blank
  • Applies your tool's radius by rebuilding the solid — and checks that no flange gets shorter or longer
  • Where the radius doesn't close, the bend keeps its original radius and warns: "Ri not applied"
step · screen recording
From STEP to the machine: the imported 3D, the flat pattern with each bend's angle and radius, and the 3D simulation with the tooling mounted on the stations.

Export the file ready for your machine

The same drawing, the file in the format your controller expects.

  • Export the program straight to the ESA and NiaBend 1.0 controllers
  • Export the tool drawings too
export · program, report and dxf
One click, three files: the machine program with the corrections, the sequence report and the flat pattern DXF.

Production report

Export a complete bend report straight to your customer or operator.

  • The bend sequence, with the tool for each one
  • As PDF, to print and hang on the machine
  • The same report opens in the browser, with the sequence playing inside
bend report · html
The HTML report open in the browser: the sequence plays inside it, with no need for NiaBend to be installed.

Your tooling

Punch, die and material registered as they really are.

  • Punch, multi-V die, die holder and fingers, with the real drawing
  • Material table and the calibration of each one
  • The tool used is stored inside the part, exactly as it was
tooling · punch
Every punch with its real drawing — working height, angle, tip radius, strength — and the 3D assembled from it.

Your machines

Register your press brake as it really is.

  • Draw your machine or import STEP parts of it
  • Set up your machine's parameters and functions for a more faithful simulation
machines · structure
Every machine with its controller. The beams come in via STEP, and it's their profile the simulation uses to find collisions.

Work with a server, without copying files

One folder on the server, several computers pointing at it — the same parts, tools and machines on all of them.

  • A workspace is a shared folder on the network: engineering and the shop floor open the same archive
  • It carries the whole archive: parts, tool library, machines and drawings
  • Each computer keeps a local copy and works on it — the part opens even with the server down
  • It syncs: sends what you edited, brings what the others edited and stops at what you both touched, for you to decide
  • Every part shows which computer was the last to touch it
  • Nothing to install on the server: any shared folder will do
archives · workspace on the server
The archives column: "This machine" and a workspace on the server. The "no server" tag is the workspace with the server down — the operator keeps working on the local copy and syncs when it comes back.

What it doesn't do

It's here on purpose. It's cheaper to find out now than after installing.

  • The simulation doesn't replace checking. It works with what you registered; check the first part.
  • It doesn't read part programs or tools from your controller — only the machine parameters, to register it.
