Demo version

What does the demo do, and what is left for the full software?

The demo draws the part profile in NiaBend's CAD and simulates bending in 2D and 3D, with the search for the sequence that doesn't collide — on parts with 1 section and up to 6 bends, with up to 20 saved parts, up to 4 tools of each type and the default machine. No file leaves it: the program for the controller, the report, the DXF flat pattern, STEP and DXF import, registering your own machines and calibration belong to the full software.

Why does the demo require an account and sending usage data?

The demo is free, and its usage is how we learn what to improve and where it falls short. That's why it only works with your website account signed in to the software and with your consent to sending usage data, linked to the account. What is sent, for how long and how to withdraw your consent are in the demo privacy notice, which the software shows before you accept.

Do I need internet to use the demo?

To sign in with your account, yes. After that, the demo license renews itself every 7 days over the internet; without a connection, the demo works until the authorization it already received expires.

If I move to the full software, do I lose what I did in the demo?

No. The demo keeps your parts and tools on your computer, in the Documents\NiaBend Demo folder. When you install the full software, the demo is removed and, the first time it opens, the full software brings the demo parts into the Demo folder on the Home screen, along with the tools and materials you created.

License

The program says the license belongs to another machine. Now what?

Sign in to the application on the new computer and choose which link to replace. For the simulator with periodic validation, confirm the transfer: two transfers per week, resetting on Sunday at midnight in Brasília. Machine and permanent offline licenses require support. Legacy licenses may require deactivation confirmation from the previous computer.

The license signature doesn't match.

The file was corrupted on the way, or it didn't come from us. Download it again from your account. If it persists, write to support with the license identifier.

I lost the .lic file.

It's available to download again from your account, as many times as you need. Downloading doesn't use up a transfer.

Do I need internet for the program to work?

In periodic mode, work continues offline while the offline authorization is valid, for up to 7 days. When connected, the application renews it daily and synchronizes the license and its presence. Permanent offline mode does not need these renewals. Statistics are sent only after your choice, and feedback only on your initiative. See the app privacy notice for details.

Can I use the same license on two computers?

No. Each license is valid for one computer. For two stations, that's two licenses.

After buying, is the program mine?

The purchase is a license to use: the program remains NiaBend's, and you may not copy, modify or pass it on. What's yours is everything you produce with it — parts, bend programs, tooling and machine records — and that stays on your computer. The details are on the copyright page, in the site footer.

Installation

Does the installation ask for an administrator password?

No. The installation is per user, which solves the common case of the shop-floor computer having its account locked down by IT.

Does it run on Mac or Linux?

No, Windows only. The full requirements are on the download page.

Where are my programs and parts kept?

In files in the Documents\NiaBend folder (in the demo, Documents\NiaBend Demo), on the computer itself. There's no cloud and no external database.

Use

Do I need a license to use NiaBend?

Yes. A valid license activated on the computer is required to use the program, including drawing and saving parts.

Does it import .prg programs I already have?

No. From your controller it brings only the machine parameters, to register it. The part programs and tools in there aren't read.

Does the simulation guarantee it won't collide?

No. It works with what you registered: a mismeasured tool or a wrongly registered machine gives a pretty, false simulation. Check the first part, and the press brake's safety procedures still apply just the same.
